Product Overview

The KitchenAid KHB2561 5-Speed Hand Blender is a multi-function blender that comes with 5 attachments.KitchenAid KHB2561 5-Speed Hand Blender Review - 3 interchangeable bell blade attachments

The  S-blade blends and purées soups, shakes, salad dressings, sauces, dips, smoothies, baby food, yogurt, and more.

Ice is easily crushed using the multi-purpose blade to make delicious frozen drinks and cocktails.

Froth milk with the frother/beater blade.

The whisk attachment replaces your hand mixer. Whip cream, whisk egg whites, beat eggs, and mix batters for pancakes and cakes.

Use the chopper attachment for chopping nuts and veggies, to make salsa and chutney.

Pros:

  • Multiple attachments for blending, puréeing, crushing, frothing, whipping, and chopping are all included
  • The bell blade attachments are made for quick changes during use
  • Space-saving all-in-one appliance
  • 5-speeds for greater flexibility and control
  • Comfortable grip
  • Easy to clean
  • Good feedback in Amazon Customer Reviews (78% = 4 or 5 out of 5 stars)

Cons:

  • KitchenAid is very light on specs, the motor power is probably around 200 Watts
  • Complaints are those common to almost all blenders i.e. early failure of various parts. KitchenAid seems to stand by their 1-year warranty and promptly replaces defective units.
  • One complaint is about the space that the storage case takes up a lot of cupboard space. However, if you had the number of appliances that it replaces stored in the cupboard, I think more space would be needed for all of them.

About 10 years ago I bought my first KitchenAid appliance. As I’ve updated my kitchen and moved to a new house, I’ve acquired more KitchenAid products, usually replacing some other well-known brand. As with all the other KitchenAid items I own, this one is clearly superior to other brands I’ve owned or used. The torque is impressive, so be sure you have a firm grip on it before you start it!

My husband bought me this as a gift. As I said in the title it is so convenient and fun to use, I find a way to use it every day. Clean up is incredibly simple, you twist the parts off and wash up. I’ve made smoothies in the blender cup and they have turned out great. My only small complaint is that the power dial is really hard to turn, there is nothing to really grip onto and I usually have to use a towel because my hands are too slick. I will probably always have an immersion blender now, they make soups, smoothies, drinks, liquid things, etc just easier.

So far, I’m very happy with my new immersion blender. Good selection of attachments. Powerful motor. The case is great for keeping the whole setup organized and neat. I’m a little concerned about the plastic connectors where the attachments join, but they have been problem-free through my first Thanksgiving usage. The only other concern I have is that I would have liked a bit of texturing on the top where the speed control knob is. The smooth metal top can make it challenging to change speeds in the middle of a project with flour on one’s hands. Overall, I really like this product. Time will tell if it’s as durable as I hope.

I own a large commercial stick blender for my soaping needs but when it comes to mashing potatoes or blending a soup, I wanted a standard kitchen model and this model is perfect. I don’t really know the difference between the various blade heads as I haven’t used them that much. It’s seen about 4-5 uses total but when I did use it I loved its performance. I missed in the ad where it indicated it came with a handy case to keep all the parts together and organized, LOVE THAT!! I can stand it up in the upright organizer in the pantry next to cookie sheets and baking dishes.

I loved this set until the chopper piece, which is the piece I use the most (to chop up onions and pure tomatoes only) stopped and wouldn’t spin the blades. I called the customer service and got a replacement. However, the replacement didn’t even last as long as the original. I’m very frustrated and disappointed. The original lasted maybe 6 months and the replacement even less.

Final Opinion

So for blending, puréeing, crushing, frothing, whipping, and chopping in one easy to use multi-function device, I give the KitchenAid KHB2561 5-Speed Blender a score of 90 out of 100 and a recommended Buy.
