Nutribullet High-Speed Blender with Fruits and Veggies

Product Overview

This blender is a problem solver for busy people who can’t seem to find the time to make healthy meals. Off-the-shelf substitutes are mostly loaded with sugar, calories, preservatives and artificial ingredients. The health benefits of making your own smoothie are numerous and not to be ignored. See my article, “Are Smoothies Good For You?”

Nutribullet has designed their product line of blenders not just to blend but to maximize nutrient extraction from fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and other plant-based foods.

The Nutribullet High-Speed Blender is the 600-watt version. The patented stainless steel blades and cyclonic action break down the cell walls of fibrous plant foods, releasing the important vitamins and minerals while reducing the beneficial fiber, pulp, seeds, and skins into a smooth-as-silk texture.

The appliance has a small footprint, sturdy and powerful but quiet. The base has suction cup feet to keep it from sliding around on the countertop.

The (1) large and (2) small to-go cups come with sip rings (one with a handle) that are convenient so you can make your smoothie and dash off taking it with you wherever you need to be in the next minute.

Making a smoothie is just as fast and convenient. Load a cup with your favorite ingredients, greens first then fruit/veggies and add liquid up to the marker- line. Do NOT overfill past the marker line with solids or liquids. Overfilling can potentially lead to leakage and/or motor failure. Twist the extractor blade lid on tightly, attach the assembly onto the power base, press and twist. Occasionally greens get stuck on the cup walls, just remove the cup from the base, shake them loose and resume blending.

  • Convenient – small, powerful and fast. Large and small cups double as blending containers and as portable, take along mugs.
  • Easy to clean – BPA-free. Cups are dishwasher safe. Blades are easily cleaned under the tap.
  • Healthy – patented, high-speed (10,000 rpm) extractor blades create a cyclonic action to extract maximum nutrients and make fiber easier to absorb.

  • Leaks – many complaints about leaks. Maybe due to overfilling above the max. fill line which puts pressure on the blade seal. Do NOT fill solid food or liquid above the line marked on the cup.
  • Motor burnout – possibly caused by leakage into the power base. See the “Leaks” comment.
  • Unit stops working – a possible cause is dislocation of the switches located on the top of the power base. Look down inside the power base where you should see the switches and be able to put them back where they belong.

Who Is This Blender For Or Not?

The Nutribullet High-Speed Blender is ideal for single people or couples that want a quick and easy blender to make personal-sized, healthy smoothies.

Because of its small, personal-sized container, it is not for large families or friendly get-togethers where large quantities of smoothies need to be made.

It is not a juicer. Smoothies contain pulp, juice drinks do not.

The Nutribullet High-Speed Blender is not meant for meal making. Although the Nutribullet can do things other than smoothies, it is not designed for large quantities or the longer running times required to blend multiple food products. Countertop/Professional blenders should be used for this purpose.

However, if you need a personal-sized blender primarily for making smoothies then this is the blender for you.

I love this thing!! It’s only 600 watts but its very powerful! Twice a day, I blend fresh kale/spinach, frozen banana, frozen strawberries, frozen apples, frozen blueberries and frozen raspberries. Once a week, I buy fresh fruit and then I put the combination in a ziplock and I freeze it so that my smoothie is slushy!! I guess you could just use crushed ice but my method works best for me.

Long story short; I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and a few months later, almost died from a severe pulmonary embolism. I needed to change my eating habits and my lifestyle so I bought this blender [but] don’t like veggies or fruit so this is the only way to get my required daily amounts.

My blood sugars are down, I’ve lost 4 pounds in one month and my energy is up so this has been one of the best purchases of my life.

I don’t taste the spinach or the kale. I also blended a hand full of almonds once and they blended well also. This blender blends very SMOOTHLY!! Be sure to follow the directions.

I’m glad I took a chance on this because, for the price of a Vitamix, I bought an elliptical AND this blender, so I’m #Winning!! 😊

I am in LOVE with a blender. This thing rocks!! I’ve owned a juicer and don’t recommend them cause you sacrifice all the fiber which you really need. This product keeps all the fiber and extracts anything that might otherwise be hard to digest. It’s a beast too. Pulverizes anything in seconds. I still like my whole veggies and fruits but this helps me get extra in if I need to plus its fun. Super easy to clean too, unlike juicers.

NOTE: The following is an extract from a very long 5-star review:

I purchased this product late November of 2016 but did not start using it regularly until mid-January 2017. Recently the blender attachment has become loose and start to leak whenever we try to make a shake. Once, the blender attachment even became fully unscrewed from the cup part and the shake flew everywhere. I always make sure they are screwed tightly together but it still seems to leak.

I am here to tell you what I found out.

OK – so I read a lot of reviews – when it came right down to it – the only real gripe I saw that people were having was this “leak” issue. For those that say this is just a blender – I would beg to differ – my fancy Cuisinart blender doesn’t pulverize FLAX seeds and coffee beans the way this thing does. Just try putting some small flax seeds in your blender with some fruit and tell me you get the smooth consistency that this little workhorse puts out. OK – so it is more than a blender – now the overall:

no problem – scared me a bit the first time I pushed down on it with its force, but was nice to know it does sound powerful. I have put carrots, ice, apples and FLAX seeds all at once in here and it comes out smooth as silk – no problem. Remember – this is not a “JUICER” this makes JUICE SMOOTHIES with PULP –

Clean Up:

A snap….a breeze – sooooooo much easier than my juicer. Love it. I can go into the kitchen, make a smoothie, clean up and be out in about 5 minutes. Juicing took 10-15 minutes of prep time alone, then another 5 minutes or so of cleanup. Took half my lunch hour to make a juice….

There are lots of good recipes and ideas in the book that came with it – don’t think I got the extras they talk about on the TV which is sad – but I am sure I can dig those up online somewhere.

Leak Issue:

OK – Here is the deal….for all you people who cannot read the instructions in the manual that comes with the unit. DO NOT OVERFILL – SCREW BASE ON SECURELY. If you didn’t understand that, then here let me state it this way – HEY! SCREW THE BASE ON TIGHT AND DON’T PUT TOO MUCH STUFF IN IT. Still, don’t understand – how about this – DO NOT FILL ABOVE THE LINE MARKED ON THE CONTAINER WHICH STATES – MAX FILL LINE

I don’t know how much clearer I can be without demoralizing someone at this point. It’s simple folks – you need to leave enough room (airspace) in the container to allow blending to occur. If there is no airspace – the liquid will push out at any seam it finds – consequently – it will leak. Follow the instructions, do not overfill and screw the base on securely and it will work beautifully. Here is another tip – because I have gone a little over on the fill once or twice. If while blending you keep an eye on the base where it meets the clear plastic container – you can see the leak working its way up through the threads of the base. If you see this happening, stop the unit and take some out and re-blend. Simple. Best practice is though to NOT OVERFILL – DO NOT FILL ABOUT MAX FILL LINE – TIGHTEN BASE SECURELY. Got it????

My Final Opinion

For making personal smoothies in a hurry and taking them with you, I give the Nutribullet High-Speed Blender a score of 95 out of 100 and a recommended Buy.
