Oster Reverse Crush Counterforms Blender

Product Overview

Smart technology makes the Oster Reverse Crush Counterforms Blender an amazing, hands-free, easy to use, machine. The blades automatically alternate direction pulling unblended contents, like leaves and frozen bits down into the blades so that you don’t have to lift the lid and use a spatula.

1000 Watts of peak power and 600 Watts of blending power drive stainless steel 6-point blades so that ice turns into snow in seconds and hard fruits and veggies are liquefied into smooth drinks.

The Oster Reverse Crush Counterforms Blender has 7 speeds. Two are pre-programmed into the control buttons, “Frozen Drinks” and “Food Chop”. Three manual speeds (low, medium and high), as well as two pulse modes (low and high), add versatility and precision control. Auto-reverse ensures jam-free operation in case the motor begins to overload.

Pros:

  • Made in North America
  • Smart Settings™ one-touch controls
  • 1000 Watt starting/600 Watt continuous blending power
  • Auto-reversing programming for hands-free, jam-free operation
  • Crush Pro, stainless steel, 6-point blade
  • 7 Speeds from PULSE to MAX ICE CRUSH
  • Dishwasher-safe, 6-Cup Boroclass® Glass Jar
  • 2-Ounce Filler Cap with built-in markings
  • Oster® 10 Year DURALAST™ All-Metal Drive Limited Warranty
  • 3 Year Satisfaction Guarantee

Cons:

  • Complaints seem to center around poor “wobbly” fit of the jar onto the base and high vibrations. Maybe they didn’t follow Tip #8  available on my How To Use A Blender – Smoothies and More page.
  • Other complaints are for early failure.
  • There are no indications that any of the complaints were followed up with Oster. The unit is covered by a 3-year satisfaction guarantee and 10-year limited warranty on the all-metal drive so I don’t understand why the owners did not follow-up.

I haven’t used this blender for very long, but so far it’s exactly what I need. I also have a ninja which is 1500 watt and although it blends faster, I never liked the pitcher attachment for it because the blades were always annoying to clean IMO. Since the ninja pitcher attachment broke (totally my fault so don’t think ninja blenders aren’t reliable because mine still works great) I got this one which works great. Gotta love the price too. I’ve used other Oster blenders before as well and they’re never disappointments.

I bought this for making smoothies. It does that and so much more. It is the only kitchen electric that I use every single day to make shakes, smoothies and the best blended tropical drinks like piná coladas and margaritas. But it also makes mundane things like breadcrumbs. I am very impressed since my far more expensive blender at home doesn’t perform any better. It is loud though, but only for a few seconds because it is also quite fast

Update: I did return this product. Cannot recommend it due to the fit, as described below, as well as the excessive noise and extreme vibration. I recently bought a Cuisinart ReMix6.0, which I can recommend. I got it on sale for close to the same amount as this Oster. Writing a review on Cuisinart now.

I have to call Oster about this. It doesn’t seem like the container fits on the power unit properly. It’s loose, wobbly, and when you turn it on any setting above low, it vibrates so bad I can’t hold onto the container and it moves around on the countertop.

I love this blender. The only reasons I give it four stars are these; the blender jar is VERY heavy for a person with arthritis. So I only say this as a warning to anyone who has trouble with arthritis. It can be hard to take the blender apart for cleaning, but again, that is due to my arthritis. The other thing is that when the blender is on high speed, it is so noisy it hurts my ears. I have to leave the room while it is running. But it works great, is so easy to clean, looks nice on my kitchen counter. I may need to go to a plastic jar in future years, but I would highly recommend this blender to anyone.

My Final Opinion

For those who want a large, powerful, but easy to use, blender, I give the Oster Reverse Crush Counterforms Blender a score of 85 out of 100 and a recommended Buy.

  1. I have been looking for an alternative to the high price blenders like Vitamix and Blendtec. I just can’t see spending close to $400 for a blender. What are your thoughts? I mostly want to make smoothies. Does this seem like a good option for me? I am just looking for something that will last and do a good job blending and crushing. It looks like everything in the video was blended well. Thanks for your review, I look forward to hearing back from you.

    1. Hi Steve & Kris,

Thanks for the comment and questions. I’ll do my best to answer as there are a lot of variables to choosing the right blender for you.

If all you want to do is make smoothies then the questions are how many and how often? If you own a commercial establishment and make a lot of smoothies on a daily basis then $400. is not a lot of money to spend for reliable, heavy-duty use. Read my Commercial Blender Reviews page.

However, I assume that you want a small blender for just yourself and your wife (I’m also assuming that Kris is your wife?). At any rate, a personal blender is probably what you are looking for. Here are some wonderful units on my Personal Blenders Reviews page.

If you are looking for something bigger so that you can share your favorite smoothie recipes with a larger family or friends, then try something from my Countertop Blender Reviews page.

Hope this answers your questions. If not, please don’t hesitate to ask for more information, I’m happy to help.

      Ed
