Pork Roast

Slow Cooker Pork Recipes - Pork Roast

This hearty pork roast is perfect anytime. Simple and easy with ingredients available in most kitchens. It can be made in a hurry so it’s ready whenever you are.

Ingredients (2 lb roast serves 3-4)

  • 1 pork loin roast (or your favorite cut)
  • 1 tbsp fresh minced garlic or 1 tsp dried garlic powder
  • tsp black pepper to taste
  • package dried onion soup mix
  • 1 tsp whole caraway seeds
  • 1 cup water (approx)


  1. Place roast in Crockpot. Add water, spices and soup mix. Cook 4 hours on med-high for a 2-lb roast, and 1 additional hour per pound, up to approximately 8 hours.
  2. As long as moisture remains in the pot, there is no danger of overcooking.
  3. Potatoes, carrots may be added under the roast, if desired.
  4. Delicious served with Yorkshire pudding and gravy made from the cooking liquid.

BBQ Pork Ribs

Slow Cooker Pork Recipes - BBQ Pork Ribs

The meat literally falls off the bone on these slow cooker BBQ Pork Ribs. And the sauce makes them irresistible. Ideal for tailgate parties.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 lbs. country style pork ribs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 1 cup beer
  • 2 med. onions, sliced and separated into rings
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco


  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Roll ribs in flour and arrange on a rack in a roasting pan.
  3. Brown ribs on the upper level of oven for 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, mix chili sauce, beer, garlic, sugar, vinegar, mustard, and Tabasco.
  5. Pour 1/3 of the sauce into a slow cooker.
  6. Arrange onion rings and ribs in the pot and put the remaining sauce over all.
  7. Cover and cook on low setting for 7 hours or high for 4 hours. Goes well with noodles.
  8. Ribs can also be baked in a casserole dish for 2 hours at 350 degrees.

Adobo Pork Tostadas

Make in the slow-cooker if you plan ahead. For a last minute craving – the pressure cooker. Both ways are delicious!

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 3-lb. boneless pork shoulder roast
  • 10-oz. can tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp. finely chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. ground coriander
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 8 corn tostada shells or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup salad greens
  • 1 cup chopped tomato
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 avocado, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Queso Fresco cheese, crumbled (optional)


  1. Trim fat from pork; cut pork into chunks.
  2. Place pork in 4 or 5 qt. slow cooker.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together tomatoes, broth, chipotle peppers, garlic, salt, cumin, cumin seeds, coriander and black pepper; pour over pork in cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 10-12 hours or on high-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours.
  5. Remove pork from the cooker. Using two forks, shred pork.
  6. Spread refried beans over tostada shells. Top evenly with pork mixture. Divide greens, tomato, avocado, and cheese evenly among tostadas. Top each with sour cream.
  7. Pressure Cooker: Combine all ingredients as above, and cook at 15 lbs. pressure for 35-40 minutes.

One healthy food that was enjoyed in large quantities even just a generation ago is sauerkraut. However, many people today do not like the tang and sour flavor found in this food. This recipe is a great way to enjoy the sauerkraut without tasting the traditional sour taste.

Ingredients (Serves 6)

  • 2 pounds pork cubes/ meat chunks or tenderloin
  • 2 bags (2 pounds) of sauerkraut (rinsed and drained)
  • molasses
  • salt/pepper/seasoned salt to taste


  1. Brown the pork with seasonings in a large frying pan.
  2. Layer the pork, sauerkraut and drizzled molasses in layers in a slow cooker or pressure cooker.
  3. If using a pressure cooker, cook for approximately 30 minutes.
  4. If using a slow cooker, turn on high and cook for approximately 4 hours or 8 hours on low.
  5. Before serving, stir the sauerkraut and meat, slightly shredding the pork.
